Multi-Purpose Canine Trainer

Position: Multi-Purpose Canine Trainer
Travel: 30% (CONUS and OCONUS)

Duty Description
Canine trainer and subject matter expert to Multi-Purpose Canine (MPC) Teams in all aspects of control, bite work, urban and rural tracking, explosive detection, obedience and agility.

Responsibilities:· Train MPC Teams on various tasks in support of predefined mission sets.
· Identify and predict problems in canines
· Develop and modify training plans to address individual canine team requirements
· Select canines, upon request, for service in a SOF Multi-Purpose Canine program.

Minimum Requirements:
CT must have 5 or more years of experience within the past 7 years in the training and handling of Dual-purpose canines. CT must have prior experience with tracking. CT should have an understanding of all aspects of KNPV, IPO, and Schutzhund. CT must be physically fit and have a thorough understanding of firearms. Must have or be eligible to obtain, a SECRET clearance.

Preferred Experience: Post 9/11 combat experience in a SOF environment is highly desirable.
