Job Description:
Provide facility security and protection to safeguard persons and company assets.
SAFETY
Must comply with all company and regulated safety requirements.
Other duties may be assigned.
Demonstrates on a daily basis Ownership, Responsibility, and Accountability (ORA).
Responsible for access control of all persons and vehicles entering the shipyard.
Responsible for armed response to incidents on Company property to protect life.
Responsible for response and investigation of incidents on the property, including assaults, thefts, and damage, referring incidents to law enforcement agencies as directed. Responsible for reporting any security violations, occurrences, etc. to appropriate management and preparing an investigative report.
Administration of key control to all buildings, offices, equipment areas, storage areas, etc.
Maintain accurate and timely log of all visitors accessing and exiting company property and facilities.
Perform unscheduled inspections of buildings, grounds, perimeter of facility, and vessels to insure consistent compliance with all security procedures and report any potential security problems to appropriate persons.
Perform security inspections of vehicles, to include all areas in plain view for prohibited items, as they enter and exit the gate in accordance with the work instructions.
Perform random security inspections of any personal belongings entering and leaving the facility, e.g. coolers, lunch buckets, tool boxes, bags, totes, backpacks, purses, etc.
Responsible for traffic control of roads, parking areas and piers to insure adequate access for emergency vehicles at times.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Must be able to safely and effectively use a firearm and other Company-issued non-lethal weapons in accordance with Company policy.
Must be licensed and able to operate a motor vehicle on the public roads of the state.
Must possess good interpersonal skills as well as demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in current computer software programs, such as Microsoft Office Suite.

Required Skills and Education:
Required education: High School/GED
High school diploma or GED with a minimum of two years cumulative experience in a similar position, such as security guard at an industrial facility, armed forces military police/security police, or corrections officer.Current driver license from any State. Ability to obtain a City of Mobile guard certificate. Ability to obtain a Mobile County pistol permit. Current firearm qualification certificate and the ability to pass the firearms qualification course. Able to bend, stoop, and climb on and off board ships at high levels. • Able to stand for minimum of 4 hours while conducting regular work duties. • Able to sit for a minimum of 1 hour. • Able to walk perimeter of facility on a daily basis while conducting regular duties. • Able to respond to voice commands, audible alarms. • Able to respond to emergencies in a prompt manner requiring agility and running. • Able to lift up to 25lbs. • Normal color vision • Normal night vision • Visual ability, correctable to 20/20 Flexible to work any shift assigned.
