Security Manager

Employer: Summit County Children Services - Akron, OH

Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
Oversees,
plans and enforces general Agency safety/security
measures, directs activities of Agency security
staff members and contracted security personnel
to promote safety/security of staff, visitor and the
entire campus.
Strategically plans and enforces agency safety
and security including staffs, visitor and facilities.
Oversees and assures performance accountability
of agency and contracted security staff, Security
Coordinator I and police officers in the visitation
center. Manages and ensures compliance with
agency budget and completes all necessary
procurement for security needs in accordance
with public contracting laws and regulations.
Acts as an armed escort for Agency Social
Workers on client calls (as requested), injects self
as necessary to protect workers and children,
employs de-escalation techniques with irate
clients, acts in the best interest of children
served.
Ensures the completion of accurate and timely
background record checks of clients and
employees.
Serves as resource to workers for security related
questions and advice on case activity. Provides
liaison services between agency and police, as
needed.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Degree from accredited college/
university in Criminal Justice or related preferred
with five (5) years law enforcement experience
required; or high school diploma with ten (10)
years law enforcement experience required with
five (5) years in supervisory role. Commissioned
Law enforcement officer with arrest powers. Must
posess O.P.O.T.C. Special training/certification
required in fire safety, first aid/CPR security
procedures and techniques. Experience working
with juveniles preferred. Valid Ohio Driver's
License required.
