3M’s Corporate Security Department has an immediate need for an International Security Manager. This position will be located at 3M’s Global Headquarters in Maplewood, MN.

Job Summary:
Provide security leadership primarily, but not limited to the Latin America International Region, designed to protect 3M’s employees, property, products, technology, and reputation. In connection with 3M leaders, General Counsel, and other stakeholders, conduct or direct complex investigations across a broad range of issues, review company facilities and acquisitions to mitigate risk through appropriate security measures, provide sage advice and direction on all security-related issues, support crisis planning and response, and maintain productive liaison relationships with internal business partners and external service providers, law enforcement, government agencies, and other entities as necessary. A successful incumbent must operate at a high level of independence, prepare timely and informative reports, and communicate effectively with all levels of the company.
The position reports to the Director of Corporate Security.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct or direct complex investigations, including those with a compliance focus
- Manage Corporate Security’s response to high-risk situations
- Conduct assessments of international company facilities and operations, recommending industry standard, cost effective security solutions
- Provide leadership to guide and develop security managers in key international subsidiaries
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required
Minimum of 7 years experience in a corporate security and/or law enforcement environment and/or military investigative, intelligence, or police role is required
- Minimum of 7 years conducting and/or directing investigations is required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Leadership role in a corporate security, military and/or law enforcement organization that includes international responsibilities
- Experience in responding to international crises and directing an effective response
- Foreign language skills
- Knowledge of physical security assessment protocols and preventative measures
- Prior experience in compliance programs, or a degree in law
- Ability to work successfully in a multicultural environment
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to bring disparate teams together in the successful pursuit of common objectives
