The successful candidate will have the following:
Civilian: Bachelor's degree
or
Military: Attendance to CMO Planner's Course is preferred.
The candidate will have operational experience in Iraq or Afghanistan as a civil affairs team member, USAID or Department of State Representative, or Provincial Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT) member. Facility for cultural, governance, essential service, economic development and civil affairs appropriate to the modern operational environment. Demonstrate creativity in tactical and operational concept and the ability to portray plausible population and governance consideration during exercises. Strong open source intelligence skills with the ability to conduct research. Familiarity with master scenario event list (MSEL) development, exercise synchronization, and expeditionary military operations. Experience with exercises (e.g., simulated, for-on-force, or table top).
Duties and Responsibilities: Assist in the development, maintenance and update of exercise materials IAW the Systems Approach to Training User's Guide (SAT).
The Civil Military Operations Specialists shall:
Develop and execute population, local civilian leader, and other local actors' actions in simulated military exercises.
Assist in the development of exercise scenarios.
Study training objectives and developments in the operational environments to determine potential exercise elements.
Develop civil military operations ICMO) operational concepts that support the training audience objectives in simulated exercises.
Emphasize realism and plausibility in generating exercise events. Shall employ various media, including text, video, audio, and still photography in inject products, and shall conduct live action through simulation software.
Create political, governmental, economical, and other products representative of typical operational reporting pertaining to the populace, essential services, governance, economics and local civilian leadership.
Enable the synchronization and integration of exercise content with MCTOG staff, Joint partners, and inter-agency contributors to ensure the seamless depiction of population activities with master event scenario event list (MSEL) injects to the training audience.
Role play the actions of civil affairs teams members, PRT representatives, or local civilian leaders during exercises as needed to support exercise training objectives.
