Free Press Unlimited is looking for a part-time
SECURITY COORDINATOR (24 hr/pw), your
responsibility will be the security of staff in the
field, during travel as well as at the head office.
Post type:
Part-time Security Officer (24 hr/wk)
Key areas of responsability:
Organizational goal
Organize, coordinate and monitor physical (and
digital) security of staff at the office, in the field &
during travel;
Advise management on policy and risk
management around staff security, provide
solutions or risk mitigation measures and
implement them.
Hierarchy
Reports to the director of operations;
Provides guidance to (temporary) staff and
volunteers in the field of security expertise.
Core Activities
Responsible for physical security of the head
office of Free Press Unlimited;
Advise staff on implementations and development
of Free Press Unlimited general security, security
manual and specific country related security
plans;
Perform quality and consistency check for each
country Security Management Plan before
approval by the Team Leader;
Collect and analyse information on security
incidents with and around Free Press Unlimited
staff and formulate recommendations for
improvement of security practice and procedures;
Define the need for training throughout the
organisation and organize according to findings;
Report to the Management Team on regular basis
regarding the security situation globally and
provides recommendations for improvement;
Develop initiatives to revise /update the security
policy and related support material and discuss
this with the Director of Operations;
Contribute to awareness raising and extension of
the security policy throughout Free Press
Unlimited and partner organisations;
Represent Free Press Unlimited in relevant
security networks;
Follows new developments in the field, updates
the organizations on chances and threats and
advises management on policy and strategy in
the field;
Deepens and broadens her/his knowledge and
experience in the terrain of one of the core
competencies of the organization stays abreast of
current research and development efforts.
Qualifications and Experience:
Education
College degree / BA in a relevant academic field or
equivalent work experience;
Demonstrable training in advanced security
preferred.
Experience
A minimum of 5 years experience as security
advisor, preferably in the field;
Experience working in an international
environment, preferably in a development
context;
Good communication skills in presentation and
writing;
Good command of Dutch and English, a third
language in the operational areas an asset.

Affinity with digital security tools;
Convinces others in the organization to accept
and follow security guidelines as a priority;
