Job Description:
This position is responsible for physical security and associated property protection programs and encourages a security awareness culture throughout the Company. The responsibility for Health, Safety and Environmental programs and compliance will be within the scope of this position.
Manage the performance and direct the daily activities of the guard staff.
Develop, plan and implement security policies as well as create and implement procedures for the team to ensure effective implementation of duties.
Responsible for management and control of ticket reconstruction activity.
Oversees and monitors the issuing of personal identification passes for GPC employees, visitors and vendors.
Responsible for Security systems and acknowledges breeches and administers appropriate response.
Oversee the development, planning, and implementation of environmental, health and safety policies locally and in coordination with Corporate EHS.
Develops procedures (chemical safety, ergonomics, illness and injury prevention, building safety, etc.) used throughout the facility.Responsible to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to environmental, health and safety and handles all contact with appropriate agencies.
Develops and oversees company training programs for employees in areas such as compliance training, plant inspection, hazardous material handling, emergency response, industrial hygiene, and life safety.
Point of contact for emergency personnel and ensures appropriate corrective action is taken where health and safety hazards exist.
Responsible for directing all Safety Committee and plant emergency organization related activities.
Responsible for coordinating the investigations and reporting process as it relates to Workers Compensation, property damage or physical security breeches.
Job Requirements:
Minimum education
BA/BS Degree in Safety, Business, Management, Engineering or equivalent relevant experience.
Years Experience
Three to five years directly related work and supervisory experience. Health and safety experience in a manufacturing environment.
Essential special training requirements
Knowledge of security hardware and software including Hirsch and Velocity and Threshold NT Enterprise.
Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations and standards (OSHA, EPA, DOT, NIOSH, ANSI, NFPA), inspection procedures, incident prevention, incident investigation techniques, and safety and environmental education and training.
Other skills
Effective oral communication skills to interact with employees at all levels of the organization.
Ability to speak to large groups of employees (public speaking).
Effective written communication skills to create and deliver reports to senior management.
The ability to establish and maintain a professional and effective working relationship with employees at all levels in the organizations and external entities (OSHA, EPA, NMED, DOT) is essential to this position.
Must have the ability to carry out assigned tasks and projects to their completion with minimal supervision.
Must have the ability to work independently and with multiple tasks.
Microsoft Office Suite experience required at intermediate level.
Knowledge of DVMS cameras and monitors, and familiarity with alarms and alarm systems preferred.
