Minimum Requirements:
Qualifications for Water Survival Instructor Marine Modular Amphibious Egress Training (MAET)
1.) Demonstrate training, qualifications and/or certifications for dunker instruction for underwater egress training. 2.) Minimum of 2 years experience in dunker operations for passengers or equivalent system. 3.) Demonstrate experience plus certifications and/or training for operation and operator level troubleshooting of Allen Bradley PanelView PlusTM Operator Terminals. (May be obtained after hire.) 4.) Demonstrate experience plus certifications and/or training for operation and inspection of overhead lifting devices approved for the lifting of personnel. 5.) Be a certified Rescue Diver recognized by a nationally certified or DoD organization. 6.) Demonstrate training, qualifications and/or certifications for instruction of Surface Water Survival. 7.) Demonstrate training, qualifications and/or certifications in the following areas: a. DAN Alert certification for identification of compressed air injuries. b. DAN Alert certification for O2 administration for diving injuries. c. DAN Alter certification for Neurological examinations. d. High Pressure Air Compressor operations. e. IPHABD and SEA Mk2 repair and maintenance (May be obtained after hire.) 8.) Be trained and qualified and/or certified as a First Responder. 9.) Be certified and qualified in Adult Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) from either the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
Job Description:
Essential responsibilities for Water Survival Instructor
1.) Ensures strict compliance with the course Program of Instructions (POI); policies and procedures; published training guides; the subcontract; and applicable government regulations. 2.) Reports to the on-site URS Lead Underwater Egress Instructor for job performance and quality of training. 3.) Responsible for compliance with URS policies and procedures and accurately reporting hours worked on URS Employee Timesheet. 4.) Accountable for obtaining and maintaining required certifications and/or qualifications, as well as, completing annual URS web-based training. 5.) Perform preventive, scheduled, and unscheduled maintenance on assigned equipment.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
Typical swim training environment, which requires working with staff, students, and equipment in a pool environment for extended periods of time up to 8 hours a day, must be in good physical shape and mentally alert to identify and respond to emergency situations, which call for a burst of strenuous activity, and be tolerant of normal pool chemicals. Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds may be required. Also required to work in a typical office environment with no unusual hazards, which requires constant sitting while using the computer terminal and processing and reviewing documents and constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must posses planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.
