Canine Handler (New York City)

Position: Canine Handler (New York City)
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

SUMMARY:
American K-9 Detection Services, LLC (AMK9) is dedicated to providing world-class canine services to governmental, non-governmental and private entities worldwide. We are currently seeking a Canine Handler to join our growing team.

COMPETENCIES:
To perform the job successfully, an individual should possess:
A minimum of 3 years of experience as an explosive detection canine handler working in the military, U.S. government, or law enforcement agency or organization.
Demonstrate a minimum of (1) year of combined training and/or cross training with a law enforcement or U.S. government agent and recent within one(1) year ongoing continued education in the following or similar training arrears:
Explosive
Explosive detection
Explosive disposal
Special events sweeps
Search techniques
Improvised explosive devices and device recognition
Bomber methodology and attach methods
Bomb threats notification procedures
Evaluation procedures and on-call emergency response

No Relocation Provided. Handler will be responsible for housing their assigned Canine.
