Position: Part-time FSO (Facility Security Officer)

Job Description:
A dynamic, highly motivated, and well-organized individual with prior experience administering US government security policies and procedures to serve as the Facility Security Officer (FSO). The FSO manages the company’s security program which includes processing security clearances, management of facilities, personnel and ensures the Corporation’s Security Program is compliant with all government regulations and requirements under the (NISPOM) National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual. The FSO will provide specialized expertise, guidance, advice, training, and support to executive management, operations management, human resources staff, recruiters, and employees, as applicable, concerning all aspects of the company’s security policies, procedures and practices. This position requires independent judgment and discretion, as well as the identification, analysis and resolution of security-related matters.
Responsibilities:
Conduct initial security briefings, debriefings, indoctrinations, and re-indoctrinations of employees
Write security plans and procedures (writing and revising security plans, procedures/instructions, fixed facility checklists, SOP and information security plans and procedures as needed)
Prepare and maintain physical security requirements
Development and implementation of security awareness program
Participate in DSS inspections and audits
Maintain certification and accreditation of the facilities
Prepare weekly reports, documenting the current status of all open security requests
Accurate and efficient creation and maintenance of personnel security files
Provide security support to management and Security Support Services for Contracts (for Prime and Subcontracts)
Enforce government and company security policies, as well as provide direction and guidance with regard to these program security regulations
Provide ad hoc support responding to security requirements from customers, ensure they meet compliance of government security directives
Process personnel security clearances via the Electronic Questionnaire for Investigation Processing e-QIP
Generate visit certification requests
Participate in an active Security Awareness and Education Program
Required Education/Skills:
Our ideal candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of experience with strong working knowledge of clearance processing procedures, experience using and maintaining JPAS records, Access Commander or other related security software, and be proficient with MS Office
Knowledge and experience with applying Defense Security Service (DSS) procedures to a company’s security program is required
This motivated candidate must possess excellent communications skills; both verbal and written
They must also have the ability to reach out proactively to security related contacts at client and contractor sites. Estimated work effort is 2-4 hours per day, during normal work hours
DoD FSO Certification preferred
