Job Description:
This position will direct security functions at Ancestry.com’s properties to ensure physical security and safety of employees, facilities and assets.

Duties will include the following:
• Analyze and evaluate security operations to identify risks or opportunities for improvement.
• Recommend and develop physical security procedures for call centers, operations centers, data centers and all Ancestry offices.
• Implement and maintain asset classification systems, monitoring systems, access control, program models and reporting tools.
• Ensure compliance with internal security policies, licensing requirements, or applicable government security, health and safety requirements, policies, and directives in each office location.
• Evaluate the effectiveness and value of security-related supplies and equipment and recommend the best solutions for Ancestry properties
• Coordinate security operations or activities with public law enforcement, fire and other agencies
• Oversee emergency management, response and contingency planning for medical emergencies, bomb threats, fire alarms, intrusion alarms and other disasters.
• Communicate security status, updates, and actual or potential problems, using established protocols to appropriate stakeholders.
• Plan, direct, or coordinate security activities to safeguard company assets, employees, guests, or others on company property.
• Manage operating and maintenance budgets for Security and initiate strategies that yield maximum return on investments dollars.
• Responsible for oversight of security vendors responsible for specific duties and responsibilities of operating and maintaining building security systems and associated equipment and of safeguarding company assets, employees, guests, or others on company property.
 
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree Criminal Justice, Security or a related field

Experience:
• 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in work related to the above-described duties.
