Job Description
Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Security Coordinator located in Bakersfield, CA through March, 23, 2014 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).

This position, reporting directly to the Vice-President, is responsible for security at a number of oilfield operations in the San Joaquin Valley Business Unit. Manages guard force of up to 25 personnel, with annual expenses exceeding $1MM. Processes confidential information on behalf of management. Work with management at various locations to improve security conditions.
Position Details: Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Acts as company representative for contract guard service, ensuring proper staffing, training and job performance take place.
Oversee payroll approval and all other aspects of contract security. Advises management of identified security needs with appropriate recommendations.
Coordinate duties with Global Security on all security-related issues. Provide oversight on all security systems, including gates, guard tours, barriers, alarms, fences.

Works with other company security personnel on the repair of existing security systems and installation of new projects. Evaluates and chooses alternatives for these systems.
Assists building services and corporate security on access control and CCTV projects at company sites and provides security assistance at field sites.
Company liaison with various law enforcement agencies and local security contacts. Represents company at various meetings and functions. Acts as Business Unit Security First Responder in emergencies.
Work with Environmental and Safety personnel as it related to security matters, including contraband inspections.
Maintains required Facility Security Plan, SOX & OE security components at local sites. Primary security contact for labor relations issues.
Provides oversight for several security programs, including long term foreign visitors, parking permits, locks and keys, etc. by directing appropriate contractor staff.
Conducts minor investigations and handles special management requests as assigned. Coordinates security issues at company sponsored events, coordinating with Public Affairs and others as appropriate

Required Qualifications:
5-10 years of progressively responsible positions with federal, state or local law enforcement that include an Investigative Background. Or, may have similar background experience in a corporate environment.
Demonstrated experience with liaison efforts with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, as well as internal and public. Practical experience in leading investigations.
Demonstrated strong communications skills, both oral and written, presenting to management in small and large audiences, including internal-public-governmental parties.
Technical/Functional knowledge of security principles, laws/regulations, and equipment, related to facilities and as guided by corporate procedures, with Incident Command and emergency management included
Demonstrated strategic thinking skills with the ability to foresee and apply security solutions to meet business needs and requirements.
Demonstrated leadership abilities and ethical behaviors.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Business, or Criminal Justice.
In addition, training on communication skills, case development and project management skills are preferred.
