Resorts - Safety and Security Manager

Location: FL - Orlando
 
Purpose:
The role of the Safety and Security Manager is to develop, implement, coordinate and ensure compliance with the company’s programs and policies covering health, safety, property security and regulatory compliance. The Safety and Security Manager provides support to the Senior Director of Safety and Security, Risk Management, Executive Management, and all assigned branches, divisions and subsidiaries.

Responsibilites:
•The Safety and Security Manager works with the Sr. Director of Safety & Security and Risk Management to provide leadership and direction on all Safety and Security matters to assigned operations, resort properties and departments, including measuring and evaluating the effectiveness of the safety program and making and recommending modifications as needed to achieve established safety goals and objectives
•Assists in designing and directing the company's safety and security program to reduce accidents, occupational illnesses, and exposure to long-term health hazards through safety-training, planned inspections, skill training, emergency preparedness, proper job instruction, physical protection, planned job observation, rules and practices and job analysis/procedures.
•Works closely with appropriate Regional Directors and operational departments in order to direct the application and administration of established corporate safety and security programs throughout the company. Serve as consultant to all company regions and locations to establish plans to improve overall health and safety of each region/location.
•Provides a safe and secure environment for all owners, guests and employees by ensuring that company properties are maintained in accordance with all laws, regulations and codes pertaining to security and safety.
•Plan, organize, schedule and conduct safety and security audits/inspections of company properties, work areas and equipment. Monitor site conditions, practices, and procedures for compliance with health and safety (OSHA) requirements and Bluegreen standards. Select and implement corrective action and follows-up to ensure proper action has been taken.
• Protect the interest of the company and its employees as required by applicable regulatory agencies such as OSHA, EPA, DOT, NFPA, etc. with respect to applicable standards (hazard communications, record keeping, OSHA 300 logs, MSDS, etc.)
• Research and become well-versed on emerging hazards/issues, communicate hazard control and loss information direction to management, supervision and employees through specialized training and education programs.
•Ensure that the security staffing, security systems, fire safety systems, security procedures, and safety plans are in effect to minimize criminal activity, accidents, fires, and natural disasters.
•Assists in developing and facilitating training for company employees on safety and security issues to ensure compliance with all company loss control policies and security and safety regulations. Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and preventative measures. Develop, revise, and advise key personnel of emergency procedures.
•Review accident investigations conducted by property locations for identification of accident causes and measures taken to prevent recurrence.
•Maintains current knowledge in the field of management/safety/security; establishes, implements and updates property/security/safety related policies and procedures; complies with federal, state and local laws and regulations; follows all safety precautions/standards and company policies and procedures.
•Responsible for taking action and decision making to bring resolution to all pertinent safety/security issues.
•This position involves contact with resort owners, guests, visitors, vendors, associates, supervisors, managers, local/state law enforcement, emergency personnel and corporate personnel.
•Perform other duties as assigned by the Sr. Director of Safety and Security.
Requirements
Requirements:

•Bachelor’s Degree required with major course work in Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Safety, Security or a closely related field; and five (5) to (7) years full-time experience performing supervisory responsibilities or highly responsible work relating to the safety and security field.
•5 years Safety and Security Experience
•Extensive knowledge of hazard/risk analysis to apply OSHA and NFPA regulations to address moderate to highly complex health/safety issues
•In depth knowledge of OSHA 1910 General Industry, American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) safety standards
•OSHA 10 hour and/or 30 hour General Industry Safety Certification
•Posses valid State Driver’s License
