Security Manager

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Overseeing the Event Staff and Reds Security managers to insure compliance with all administrative and operational policies, practices, and guidelines.

• Insuring that the Event Staff and Reds Security are performing their assigned duties:
Ensuring each visitor to the Great American Ball Park has a safe & enjoyable visit by tending to all public safety and security needs as directed by management.
Managing and controlling crowds and performing guest services functions.
Enforcing all laws, ordnances, and regulations, along with the policies and practices of the Reds.
In the event of a Shelter-In-Place or evacuation scenario, insure that guests are safely and efficiently moved to pre-designed locations or exit the facility.
Monitor the facility for hazards and either resolving the issue or reporting it and making the area safe until the proper authority arrives.
Provide security services for employees and guests.

Conducting a safety sweep of the ballpark pre-event, during the event if the needs arises, and execute a post-event securing of the facility.
Provide field security on the field, in the dugouts, and in the bullpens providing for the safety of players, coaches, umpires and management both pre and post-game.
Verify the identification and access levels of working personnel at the ballpark, including but not limited to the press, visiting team personnel, families, guests and event day staff.
Provide security escort services for visiting dignitaries, players’ families, visiting team management, families and special guests.


Ideal candidate will possess the following:
• Successful management experience, preferably in a law enforcement or a corporate security setting, where the candidate was responsible for the supervision of a large staff, had payroll responsibilities, and set policy and practice.
• Professional demeanor with the demonstrated ability to engage and motive a staff.
• Possess strong verbal and writing skills, being able to communicate clearly and effectively, with staff, supervisors, and the public in professional manner.
• Good decision making abilities.
• Ability to hear, comprehend and disseminate instructions and vital information especially in the event of emergencies.
• Ability to work long and irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to negotiate and work on all levels of Great American Ball Park
• Experience with handling large crowds while remaining friendly and professional
• Must be able to work outdoors exposed to weather conditions
• The ideal candidate must be reliable, helpful, alert and observant.

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have a High school Diploma or GED.
