Summary:
The Armed Security Officer shall provide services for Installation Entry Control (IEC), Commercial Vehicle Inspection (CVI) and Visitor Control Center (VCC), at Air Force installations. Due to the criticality of the security mission, these requirements shall be performed 100% of the time without deviation or error. The Officer will protect and prevent loss of materials or processes, which are important for national defense, public health or safety, or their value as national treasures. The Officer does not act in the capacity of a law enforcement officer, and has no arrest or apprehension powers. The Officer is armed with a side arm, shotgun, or other weapons as required. 1. Shall deter, detect, detain, and mitigate, by use of necessary force, persons suspected of committing offenses such as drunk driving, improper transport of drugs, explosive materials or weapons, and trespassers or persons who illegally gain or attempt to gain access to military bases. Such personnel will be detained until Officers are able to turn them over to law enforcement authorities
2. Maintain control of personnel and vehicles entering the installation in accordance with the local installation plans, policies, and post limitations.
3. When required, the contractor will also control all personnel and vehicles departing the installation in accordance with local installation plans and policies. Entry control requirements will vary according to Force Protection Conditions (FPCON).
4. Ensure vehicles display valid installation vehicle registration decals (DD Form 2220) or Visitor Pass (AF Form 75).
5. Perform checks of individual identification.
