Armed Security Guard - (Winchester) (FT)

Summary

The Armed Security Officer shall provide services for Access Control, Package Screening,, Personnel Screening, Traffic Control, Visitor Processing, Vehicle Inspection, Communications and Dispatching, Patrol Operations and Emergency and Event Response at various Federal sites and buildings. Due to the criticality of the security mission, these requirements shall be performed 100% of the time without deviation or error. The Officer will protect and prevent loss of materials or processes, which are important for national defense, public health or safety, or their value as national treasures. The Officer does not act in the capacity of a law enforcement officer, and has no arrest or apprehension powers. The Officer is armed with a side arm, shotgun, or other weapons as required.

Minimum Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
• U.S. Citizenship • Must be at least 21 years of age. • Must speak, read, write, and understand English. •Each Officer position requires the ability to obtain a favorable National Agency Check (NAC) • Successfully pass initial and random drug screens •Must successfully pass medical exam and Standardization Evaluation Assessment/Training


Education and/or Experience
• Minimum of GED or high school diploma. • Three years of security experience within the past five years; or An Associate’s Degree in a related field and at least one year of experience; • Or three years of military or National Guard (active duty or reserve) experience; or Successful completion of Police Officer’s Standard Training (POST) course; or any reasonable combination of the above (i.e., one year of security experience plus one year of college coursework related in the field). • Successfully completed all training and have obtained all required permits, licenses, certifications and security clearances for the site.
Computer Skills
Basic knowledge in the use of computers and associated operating systems.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, Clearance:
• A valid state driver’s license. • Must possess, or be able to secure a top-secret security clearance as may be required by the job site. • Be able to meet any Federal, State, or Municipal requirements to work as an armed Security Officer. • Possess a state-issued security Guard license and weapons permit (in jurisdictions where such licenses or permits are applicable) or have verification of completion of state mandated training and license and weapons permit (where applicable) submission verification.......Read more
