ensure the safety of both our employees and physical assets Evaluate the type and level of security risks facing our global operations and implement programs to incorporate risk mitigation into the strategic planning processes for these operations. Lead, in conjunction with Logistics, the C-TPAT certification process to ensure the company remains in compliance with the C-TPAT requirements. Review and coordinate executive and personnel travel protection. Advise senior management on significant security issues that could threaten our employees or operations. Job Responsibilities Develop and implement global security operating procedures to ensure a consistent approach to protecting the company’s employees and assets. Work with the production plants and offices to evaluate the adequacy of their security systems, programs and staffing; recommend improvements; and assist with the implementation of the improvements, as needed. Develop and manage the implementation of effective cargo security loss control measures. Stay current with evolving security threats, including political and terrorist activities, and their potential impact on the company’s operations with a focus on Latin American and Mexico, and lead the process to identify, develop and implement solutions to mitigate the threats. Manage the investigation of significant security incidents, including the theft of company assets, threats to employees, unauthorized access to company property, etc. Ensure that all security incidents are properly managed at the local level. Supervise the Security Manager for the Louisville campus and the BFFTM Commercial Office Security Manager. Develop security specifications for all new production facilities and warehouses. Coordinate with Corporate Engineering to ensure the proper installation of the security equipment. Develop the security template for assessing the security systems of new warehouse and office sites, manage the security risk assessment process, identify any significant assessment deficiencies and recommend appropriate corrective actions. Develop security awareness training programs, as needed, that are tailored to the specific security risks faced by each production facility or office. Serve as the company’s liaison with local law enforcement, U.S. State Department, security officials of international companies and external security consultants in order to remain aware of the degree of any threat and the recommended mitigation measures. Keep senior management informed of serious security threats and/or evolving security threats that could significantly impact the company’s operations and recommend solutions. Prepare and distribute a Quarterly Security Report of significant security incidents and corrective actions. Remain current with new technology and trends in the field of security in order to recommend new equipment and/or practices that could enhance security or reduce costs. Oversee the implementation of the C-TPAT requirements at the company’s production facilities to ensure compliance with the program’s standards and the continuation of the company’s C-TPAT certification. Ensure that the company’s security program is aligned with the overall goals of the company.
Must Requirements Education:
BA or BS degree in related field Experience: minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in a corporate security, with at least 5 years experience as the head of the security function and at least three years of recent international experience with an emphasis on Mexico and/or Latin America. Significant knowledge of the global cargo security risk and demonstrated success in developing and implementing effective cargo security loss control measures. Significant knowledge of the U.S. Customs C-TPAT regulations and the U.S. Government security community contacts. In-depth technical knowledge of security standards, programs, techniques, and state-of-the art equipment. Capacity for proactive and strategic thinking and a track record demonstrating initiative, self-motivation, organizational leadership and results-oriented attitude to influence outcomes. Excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to organize and prioritize work. Ability to adjust quickly and adapt to changing priorities. Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team. Ability to supervise, mentor, coach, guide and train security staff. Capability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Preferred Requirements Education: MBA Fluency in Spanish #AC1
