Job Summary ***The location for this position is flexible, ideally being located in a city near a major airport. Incumbent must live, or be willing to relocate, within the East Region. This position will require overnight travel within the region approximately 60% of the time.***
Responsibilities will include management of all elements of company security within the East Region which may include all, or parts, of the eastern United States and eastern Canada. Travel to other regions may be required on an as-needed basis.
Position Responsibilities
Execute and enforce ConAgra security policies and procedures. Serve as East Region security expert and directly support the security needs for all ConAgra facilities within the region. May be assigned to other areas or projects as needed.
Aggressively market the Corporate Security program to ConAgra facility managers and employees to ensure compliance with Corporate Security requirements.
Gather and analyze security information from company facilities to identify security vulnerabilities and implement corrective measures to mitigate risk to people, product, and property and prevent loss from theft and diversion. Notify the appropriate Director of Corporate Security of any security issues that may impact product, people, property, or brand integrity.
Conduct investigations of theft, fraud, misconduct, and other illegal or unethical activity impacting the company and develop relationships with appropriate regulatory and law enforcement agencies necessary to facilitate the interests of ConAgra Foods.
Conduct or oversee security audits of company facilities and work with local management to remedy security vulnerabilities identified through those audits. Track required changes and follow up to insure that compliance is attained and maintained.
As needed, provide security training to facilities employees to ensure compliance with federal, state, and ConAgra security policies and requirements.
Assess and recommend cost effective solutions to enhance overall security of ConAgra facilities, employees, property, and product through electronic and physical security systems and measures.
Respond immediately and appropriately to security emergencies and crises.
Assist the Director of Corporate Security – Physical Security in other security or investigative matters as they relate to protecting the people, product and property of ConAgra Foods.
May serve as spokesperson for the Senior Director, Corporate Security or Vice President, Real Estate and facilities, in accordance with ConAgra communications policies.
Position Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in business, management, criminal justice, security, or related field is required. At least 10 years security management, law enforcement, or intelligence experience is required.
A strong background in investigations, security/vulnerability assessments, and workplace violence response/prevention is required.
Must demonstrate and uphold the highest ethical standards.
Should have practical experience with electronic and physical security concepts and systems such as access control, CCTV, and supply chain security. Knowledge of Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPETD) principles is preferred.
Must be eligible to obtain government security clearances and certifications as required and legally carry a firearm and/or concealed weapon.
Must have or obtain a U.S. passport and be free and capable to travel up to a week at a time via automobile and/or aircraft.
Must possess and demonstrate excellent interpersonal, analytical, and written and oral communication skills and be capable to lead, motivate, and educate audiences in various informational and training formats.
Must be proficient in computer communications, research, and documentation skills, including Microsoft Office programs.
Must have the experience and ability to balance multiple projects of varying priority in a fast-paced environment; both independently and as part of a team.
Experience in managing proprietary and/or contract guard services is preferred.
Must have a valid driver license.
Must have the ability to perform occasional strenuous physical activities such as standing for long periods of time, climbing stairs or ladders, and lifting or operating heavy or bulky security equipment.
