Job Summary
Develops and administers the organization's security-training programs to all employees within area of responsibility. Conducts facility inspections to ensure compliance with the organization's established operating procedures and local, state, and federal regulations, and corrects any deficiencies. Essential duties and responsibilities, shown below, will vary accordingly based on assignment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Conducts facility inspections to ensure compliance with the organization's established operating procedures and local, state, and federal regulations, and corrects any deficiencies.

- Develops and administers the organization's security-training programs to all employees.

- Serves as liaison with applicable law enforcement and other regulatory agencies and provides expert court testimony in cases involving the organization.

- Conducts security audits on the organization's various functions.

- Oversees theft investigations involving the organization's property and/or employees.

- Ensures monthly security goals are being achieved.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Some Security Managers may not have supervisory responsibility.

Ensures proper staffing and the use of overtime hours to maximize the effectiveness of the Security function. Conducts annual performance appraisals for direct reports, recommends salary increases, provides individual feedback to improve performance, and initiates corrective action in response to personnel problems. Directs the training of new employees to perform their duties in a manner consistent with company standards.

Qualifications (may vary by level)
Required Experience


- Associates Degree required, Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years in investigation, security, or law enforcement function preferred
- Previous experience in a supervisory or management role.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

- Knowledge of criminal investigation procedures, law enforcement operations, legal system, local/state/federal regulatory agencies, personnel training methods and auditing procedures.
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
- Strong Microsoft Office applications.
- Requires strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and ability to manage teams.


Travel Requirements

Moderate travel is required.
