 The HSSI Security Guard/Sentry I Escort position is an entry level part-time non-exempt, unarmed position responsible for monitoring and reporting incidents related to the protection of U.S. Government classified materials at Naval Base Kitsap and Naval Submarine Base Bangor.  The incumbent will also assist in plans and procedures to be followed in the event of any major catastrophe (i.e. earthquake, flood, fire) to ensure adequate security measures are maintained within the site of responsibility.  This position reports to the Project Security Manager
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  1. Must have ability to treat all persons with courtesy and respect, and demonstrate impartial enforcement of regulations
  2. Must demonstrate professional conduct at all times
  3. Must have the ability to make independent and good judgment decisions within proper policy and procedures
  4. Must possess the skill and ability to read, write and converse clearly in English
  5. Must be physically fit and capable of handling the physical requirements of the position Must be able to work (mission essential) regardless of weather conditions, Force Protection Condition, work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, holidays
  6. Must be physically fit and capable of performing moderate physical exertion
  7. Must successfully complete any required training and be able to follow directions
  8. Must be able to maintain confidentiality pertaining to work site operations so as not to cause a breach in installation security or interrupt continuity of operations

  1. Minimum Qualifications:
  1. Must possess a high school diploma or GED
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen
  3. Must successfully pass an initial pre-employment physical and drug screening and periodic follow-up testing
  4. Must successfully complete a background check
  5. Must possess a valid driver’s license
  6. Must be 21 years of age
  7. Must have and maintain a “Secret” clearance
  8. Must have 20/20 correctable vision in each eye; be able to hear the conversational voice and distinguish basic colors.
