Description We are immediately hiring a Physical Security Specialist for our client in Arlington, VA. This is a direct, full time position with our company, working onsite with one of our Federal clients. This is a full time, contractor position with a DoD Agency, and qualified individuals will be coordinating and conducting Physical Security activities in support of the agency.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Electronic Security Systems Management:
Designing, installing, evaluating, operating, maintaining, and upgrading intrusion detection systems, closed circuit television, automated access control, and other supporting electronic security systems.

Security Hardware:
Conducting and/or coordinating the design, installation, operation, maintenance, and upgrade of security hardware and locking devices.
Maintaining a current inventory of electronic and mechanical security system devices and components.

Physical Security Surveys/Evaluations:
Conducts physical security surveys of client site and offsite performer spaces to determine adequacy of existing security attributes and to recommend enhancements to support requirements. Must be able to:
Read and identify security concerns relating to construction plans;
Conduct a Risk, Threat and Vulnerability assessment;
Understand security hardware and systems;
Understand heating, ventilation, and air conditioning structures
Understand wiring/cabling for electrical and communications systems;
Be able to prepare and submit in a timely manner, a detailed and accurate written report of survey actions, findings, recommendations, and costs;
Requires travel to various facilities around the country for short periods of time.

Construction Functions:
Responsible for the planning and overseeing construction and security compliance for several Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities, Special Access Program Facilities, Temporary Secure Work Areas, and Special Access Program Secure Work Areas in accordance with DCID 6/9, the M-1, and the NISPOM Overprint.
Prepares Fixed Facility Checklists (FFCs), TEMPEST Addendums for SCIF Accreditation and review Department of Defense form 254’s for compliance.

Position Requirements:
Minimum of five years of Physical Security experience is required.
Thorough knowledge of the electronic security system components, including the inter-relationship of the various systems.
Thorough knowledge of Physical Security equipment such as CCTV, STEs, Passive Infrared devices, access control systems, intrusion detection systems and combination locks is a must.
Excellent written and verbal skills are a must to include proofing, editing and research skills.
Must have experience conducting site surveys; reading construction plans and building SCIF/secure rooms.
Must be able to conduct inquires for all security incidents and prepare detailed, accurate reports.
Knowledge of and experience in the application of:
Physical security concepts and practices
Current physical security hardware and electronic systems technology
Applicable laws, executive orders and DOD security policies

Travel Requirements There is minimal seasonal travel.
