Special Operations Forces Lessons Learned Collector/Analyst

Job Description:
Primary Responsibilities. Perform as a Collector/Analyst (C/A) based in the government customer’s spaces to collect, analyze, archive, resolve and disseminate (CAARD) lessons from operations, exercises, experiments, training, planning and war games. The Special Operations Forces Lessoned Learned Collector/Analyst plays a major role in gaining factual data that is critical to the rapid development and delivery of capability and best practices to the (SOF) warrior. C/As will gather information based on SOF LL focus areas. This information may be based on raw observations and insights requiring additional analysis or finished unit After Action reviews or SOPs. This requires a continuous presence allowing for daily interaction with specified commands. C/As uses quantitative and qualitative analytic methods to facilitate in-depth diagnostics to identify trends, determine additional materiel or support requirements, future operational concerns, and other information such as identifying findings – best practices or issues. C/As will develop local solutions and adaptations of previous solutions, as well as support the SOFCIDS and JCIDS processes led by SOCOM Headquarters. C/As will anticipate the needs of the unit, research applicable lessons and provide them to the appropriate commanders and staff to increase their level of performance. C/As will also monitor the JLLIS-SOF system for applicable lessons and disseminate them to the local headquarters. C/As will ensure that lessons collected locally are properly documented and input to JLLIS-SOF to be available to other units. Finally, the C/As are the unit’s expert on organizational learning processes, assisting them to determine and capture what is going right and what is going wrong before, during and after operations.
