McKean Defense Group is currently recruiting for an experienced Naval Engineering Training Specialist, who is a subject matter expert in shipboard propulsion plants, control systems, and power generation systems. The position is based in Philadelphia, PA in support of the United States Navy’s efforts to improve engineering training and operational Readiness of the Fleet. The ideal candidate brings a passion for managing strategic projects critical to ensuring the defense of the nation with a track record of rapid, effective execution of initiatives providing significant value to the Navy training community. An understanding of the Navy’s training organizational structure, front end analysis, curriculum development, and training system installation plans are necessary to succeed in this position.


This position requires regular, direct, point-to-point client interface, excellent client-relationship development and management skills, and an outstanding ability to simultaneously manage multiple high visibility efforts, respond to emerging issues, and guide the clients to foresee, pursue, and achieve strategically significant results. Required Skills
Excellent communication skills (written, oral, and presentation) are required
Must be a self-starter able to work on his/her own, comfortable with preparing presentations, interfacing with new customers, and managing multiple tasks simultaneously
An understanding of the Navy, Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and direct experience in the surface maintenance community is critical to succeeding in this position
Working knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical (HM&E) Systems Required Experience
5-10 years of professional training experience required
Prior active duty Navy experience is highly desirable (preferably in engineering)
Expertise/Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
