Job Duties:
- Conduct federal background investigations in compliance with ICD 704 standards, all laws, and other required federal agency regulations.
- Work cases throughout the geographic area of responsibility and travel to various places of employment, residence and education institutions. Travel to other geographic locations (by car or by plane) will also be required as needed.
- The work location will normally be in the field conducting investigations with occasional in-office assignments as a Case Reviewer.
- At times, it may be necessary to report to a field office for meetings or training.
- Prepare reports of investigation in accordance with guidelines and instructions.
- Engage in dialogue on a regular basis with managers and representatives at contractor facilities, various U. S. Government organizations, and law enforcement agencies to develop and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships.
- Obtain and report factual information from a variety of personal and record sources to produce a report of investigation, containing all pertinent facts, of an individual's background and character, in accordance with ICD 704 standards and agency guidelines and instructions.
- Establish rapport with record providers and foster a sense of mutual confidence and cooperation while maintaining credibility.
- Monitor pending cases to ensure compliance with delivery due dates and track submission of investigative leads. Prioritize cases where noteworthy or derogatory information is developed. Monitor pending cases, review and revise reports of investigation. Check for quality and take necessary actions to complete case. Schedule additional leads as discovered in investigation.

- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must be at least 18 years of age;
- Must have a H.S. Diploma or equivalent;
- Must have a minimum of three (3) years within the last ten (10) years of investigations experience at the federal, state, or local level of government.
- Experience conducting one-on-one subject interviews is required.
- Must have the ability to adapt or conform to report writing standards for reports of investigation in a professional and timely manner.
- Must be able to exhibit a professional demeanor in all situations.
- Must be able to resist being influenced by political, religious, ethnic or other irrelevant considerations during the conduct of the investigation and produce a report that is a fair, impartial, and objective representation of an individual's background and character.
- Must be able to adapt to changing situations and environments as they occur and be able to interact with people from all walks of life and socioeconomic levels.
- Must have strong verbal and written communications skills and behave in a professional manner at all times.
- Must be able to exercise absolute integrity in every aspect of the job duties and responsibilities.
- Must be willing to travel on temporary duty assignments as needed (by car or plane).
- Must have a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record as determined by the company.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), E-mail, Internet, and database software. Knowledge of IRMA™ is a plus.
- Must have a current (within the last 2 years) Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) or active Secret level security clearance based on an SSBI.
- Must be willing to undergo a full-scope polygraph examination.
- Must be able to successfully pass all required training.
- Must be able to successfully pass criminal, credit, and driving record checks;
- Must be able to successfully pass a security screening;
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the required U.S. Government Security Clearance and full-scope polygraph.
