Corporate Security Manager

Job description includes, but is not limited to:
  • Monitor all breaches of security reports and investigate those deemed serious or denoting a trend. Specific criteria are set as to what constitutes a breach.
  • Conduct internal and external investigations. Coordinate investigations with human resources and law enforcement when appropriate. Work with local, state and federal prosecutors as needed.
  • Testify in criminal and civil court proceedings.
  • Perform security surveys at Hertz and all Hertz owned subsidiary companies including Hertz Equipment Rental (HERC), Dollar and Thrifty Rent-A-Car and agency locations.
  • Coordinate with Hertz Claim Management (HCM) representing Hertz interest in cases involving outside authorities where Hertz is or may be the target of the inquiry.
  • The ability to work independently on investigations uncovering wrongdoing by Hertz employees and customers.
  • Participate in manager meetings to keep all concerned informed of possible criminal activity and wrongdoing.
  • Monitor all theft reports to identify trends and take corrective action. Conduct site and field investigations when necessary.
  • Maintain and develop liaison with local, state and federal law enforcement authorities. This includes assistance to management to resolve problems and to eliminate unfounded theft reports to law enforcement.
  • Provide training programs for new hires. In some instances, conduct presentations at new hire training sessions and retraining sessions for experienced employees. Training will include fraud lectures and crime prevention techniques.
  • Familiarization with CCTV and alarm systems. Participate in the planning of new and renovated facilities to offer suggestions for CCTV placement, hardware and procedures.
  • Make unannounced visits to locations to observe activities of employees and recommend security enhancements when necessary.
  • Conduct investigations as required by management which occur within all Hertz division and subsidiaries.
  • In cases of strikes by Hertz employees, insure that local management takes all necessary precautions to protect customers, employees and assets, act as liaison with law enforcement and other agencies related to the strike. Investigate incidents of violence or vandalism which may occur.
Mandatory Requirements:
Requirements:
  • 20 YEARS PLUS: Law enforcement experience a must with a concentration in criminal investigations
  • Knowledge of investigation in criminal and civil matters and the ability to testify in court
  • Ability to analyze cases and make the appropriate decisions
  • Good verbal and written communication skills to present factual findings to management and law enforcement
  • The ability to use a computer and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Advanced computer skills including familiarity with Lotus Notes
  • Closed circuit television and alarm systems
  • Building access controls
  • Interview and interrogations techniques
