Physical Security Consultant

Job Description

This position has the responsibility for providing consultation to clients on Physical Security needs according to North American Electric Reliability Corporation guidelines.

Duration
Contingent upon contract award

Requirements
Ability to lead junior staff conducting security assessments, writing assessment reports and assisting the client prepare evidence for the regulatory authority.
Candidate must have 2 or more years experience with NERC CIP standards.
Experience with preparing and/or presenting evidence during a NERC audit.
Demonstrated ability to lead and communicate effectively with senior management, company subject matter experts, and executives.
Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Physical Security Professional (PSP) certifications are strongly desired, or
Electrical industry physical security experience as an employee or contractor or experience as an auditor for a NERC regional entity
Documented experience in threat vulnerability assessments and/or development of NERC security plans in the electrical industry.
Must be willing to travel.
Position will require successful completion of background investigations up to and/or including National Security clearances

Required Skills
Demonstrated experience with physical security systems within the law enforcement, government or military sectors. This experience must include experience with security systems that protect city, county, state or federal facilities to include Canadian agencies and all global military branches.
Conducting and/or evaluating threat and vulnerability analysis of a physical attack.
Developing and/or implementing mitigation recommendations related to identified threats
Designing and/or evaluating physical security plans
Designing, implementing or evaluating asset protection plans, specifically those related to facilities with special emphasis on industrial complexes.
Other experience with physical security risk mitigation activities that may include compliance related activities associated with Nuclear Regulatory Commission Standards, Interagency Security Committee Standards, Chemical Facilities Anti-Terrorism Standards, Alberta Counterterrorism Crisis Management Plans or Alberta Reliability Standards.

Education & Work Experience

Advanced degree in Information Systems, Engineering or toehre lated fields is preferred or B.S. degree with 5-10 years of experience.
