Linxx Global Solutions, a fast-growing government contracting company, headquartered in Virginia Beach, Virginia, is currently looking for tactical firearms instructors to fill positions in the Southwest United States region in support of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) National Nuclear Security Administration.
These positions are contingent upon contract award
Responsibilities
Assist in preparing, implementing, and executing the Protective Force Training Plan and Physical Readiness and Maintenance Program Plan, ensuring regulatory protective force and safety standards are met
Develop course objectives, lesson plans, training aids, and student evaluations
Conduct basic, refresher, and periodic firearms and tactical training and evaluate the skills of the protective force
Conduct qualification training and certify the validity of the scores achieved during these attempts
Provide remedial firearms training to protective force personnel who fail to qualify during a particular firearms course, which requires identifying problem areas for individual shooters and reinforcing the principles of marksmanship, firearms manipulation, and safety
Collaborate with internal and external counterparts to achieve all training goals and objectives
Complete the required certification, refresher, and recertification training courses to competently perform the tasks associated with this specialized job
Create and submit accurate and detailed reports and briefings
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
Must be a U.S. citizen;
Must be at least 21 years of age;
Must be able to obtain a favorably adjudicated National Agency Check with Local Agency Checks and Credit Check to obtain a security clearance;
Must be able to participate in the DOE Human Reliability Program;
Must possess a high school diploma or general educational development certificate;
Must complete the DOE National Training Center (NTC) Basic Instructor Training Course and Firearms Instructor Certification Course, or Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, U.S. military, or other federal agency equivalent;
Must pass the firearms qualification courses for assigned firearms and for firearms that are the subject of instruction (Instructors for security police officers II and III must complete the Advanced Weapons Systems Instructor Certification course.);
Must complete all other required DOE NTC tactical training courses prior to providing instruction;
Must possess current basic first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation certificates (American Red Cross or the American Heart Association);
Must have a complete understanding of the use of force continuum and rules of engagement;
Must possess knowledge of teaching methods and instructional techniques, as well as the assigned subject/topic areas;
Must have been honorably discharged from the U.S. military (DD214 required) (if applicable);
Must have strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills;
Must demonstrate a high level of professionalism;
Must be able to effectively use Microsoft Office, the Internet, and required software;
Must be able to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays in all weather/environmental conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
Have an active U.S. Department of Defense or DOE security clearance;
Possess an associate’s degree or higher in training and education, health and human performance, or related field;
Possess master training specialist and instructor certifications or equivalent and at least five years of experience designing, developing, and delivering weapons and tactics training for the U.S. military and/or federal, state, and local agencies.
