Senior Trainer, AGTS (CR)

Overview:
Responsible for the execution of all training conducted within the Perminant (PAGTS) and Mobile Advanced Gunnery Training System (MAGTS). Responsible for providing Instructor/Operator LAV training advice, assistance, and evaluation in the integration and implementation of the Advanced Gunnery Training System operations and activities SANG wide. Assists in the development of fire control and distribution techniques and unit operational procedures. Provides training assistance on all simulators to the MNG units. Provides advice, assistance, and training to Contractor Trainers, OPM Advisors, and MNG Forces on simulators.

Duties/responsibilities:

Oversees the execution of all training conducted within the Advanced Gunnery Training Systems.
Oversees TSMDU I/Os and presenting training to LAV – 25 crews.
Serves as the Contractor Subject Matter Expert for the Permanent and Mobile Advanced Gunnery Training System (PAGTS / MAGTS), Computer Generated Forces (CGF) computer.
Designs crew and platoon level AGTS exercises utilizing the CGF.
Assist I/O with operator level maintenance of the AGTS.
Serves as Primary Instructor for MNG AGTS Operator Courses.
Assists in the development of MNG Professional Development Courses.
Provides advice and assistance to MNG units on the use of gunnery and tactical simulators.
Provides tactical and technical advice to MNG Commanders and Operations Officers during training.
Provides training and evaluation assistance as the Senior Instructor/Operator (SI/O) during training sessions with MNG crews, platoons, and companies.
Serves as an After Action Review Facilitator for platoons/companies participating in AGTS Platoon/Company Training.
Assists Simulations Division with all simulators/simulations.
Performs other mission and administrative duties as assigned.

B. Independence: Works under the supervision of the Chief, TSS, operating within broad objectives and with independent choice of method.

C. Supervisory Responsibilities:One (1) Chief, Interpreter/Translator (I/T).


Qualifications:
A. Education Level: High School graduate. College preferred. Former Noncommissioned Officer. Graduate of an Advanced or Intermediate level U.S. Military service school. Master Gunner preferred.

B. Experience: Minimum of 5 years LAV-25/Bradley/Tank gunnery. AGTS/UCOFT Senior Instructor/Operator or I/O Certified. Experience in training simulators desirable.

*C. Specific Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements: *Knowledgeable of current tactics and gunnery training doctrine. Knowledge of gunnery training programs and gunnery training simulators/devices. Must be able to effectively communicate orally and in writing, read and understand technical and training manuals. Must have the ability to deal effectively with people, to include foreign nationals.

D. Other Specific Requirements: Must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Must have the ability to deal effectively with people. Possess a valid U.S. driver’s license and computer literate.
