Overview:
BRTRC Federal Solutions is seeking a Personnel Security Specialist with experience administering U.S. government security policies and procedures with regard to employee actions both CONUS and OCONUS. This is a full-time position located in Vienna (Tysons) Virginia.
The successful candidate will provide support with security clearance processing, conduct security clearance pre-screens and other clearance-related actions for personnel requiring clearances. He/She will serve as a team player, exhibit flexibility, set priorities, and manage client expectations. Interaction with internal and external clients and government security officials will be required to resolve issues.
Responsibilities:
Reviews all security documentation for accuracy, completion and submission via the e-QIP system.
Provides guidance and instruction to employees to ensure completion of security paperwork.
Maintains oversight of employee clearances: processing initial clearances, periodic reinvestigations, incident reports, security violations, etc.
Ensures all reportable incidents are submitted to the appropriate agency in accordance with the NISPOM.
Writes security policies/procedures and maintains company Security Operating Manual.
Maintains all security documentation and files in accordance with DSS requirements.
Prepares for and participates in all DSS Vulnerability Assessments. Performs self-inspections as required by the NISPOM.
Prepares employee base badge request and CAC forms and coordinates submission of these forms.
Provides Security Training to all employees including but not limited to the Annual Security Refresher.
Provides new hire security-related information and ensures all required paperwork and briefings are completed as required.
Works closely with management and reports any issues or upcoming policy changes that could affect the company's Security Program.
Oversees and implements policy for information systems, physical, facility, and personnel security programs.
Interacts with government agencies on classified matters.
Supports all aspects of the company Security Program
Knowledge of NISPOM, DoD directives, and EO
Qualifications:
Active Secret clearance
Minimum of five years of in-depth experience and knowledge of the National Industrial Security Program (NISP) and experience with DSS.
Significant experience in JPAS, e-Qip and SWFT
Strong organizational and administrative skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Completion of Formal DSS Academy training course.
Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills
Experience in a FOCI environment highly desired.
