Responsibilities:
Primary duties include monitoring the entry/exit of employees and visitors entering classified workspaces. Security Specialists will be required to inventory and control employee and visitor badges. Functional responsibilities include: detecting, appropriately responding to, and providing accurate, complete, and timely written and oral reports and notifications of unauthorized activities, emergency events, safety conditions, and other security anomalies.
Qualifications:
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
Security Specialists will be required to be trained and knowledgeable of access control and alarm procedures in order to activate and deactivate alarm systems and open/close vaulted areas. Basic computing skills are necessary in order for Security Specialists to access and update personnel/visitor information databases. At a minimum, Security Specialists will possess a limited degree of security entry control experience gained from past employment at similar government controlled/classified facilities. Security Specialists will be required to be trained and knowledgeable of emergency evacuation procedures and provide limited unarmed emergency response to emergencies.
SKILLS AND TRAINING:
TS/SCI with Polygraph
VA DCJS Unarmed Security Officer Registration
CPR/First Aid/AED Certified
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
At least 21 years of age
Must be US citizen
Possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent
Able to pass a physical exam/drug screen and a federal background investigation.
Speak and be literate in English to the extent of writing, reading and understanding printed regulations, orders, instructions, etc.
Day shift either 06:00 to 14:00 or 10:00 to 18:00
