Ammunition Handler / UXO Technician I

Overview LOGISTICS 2020 has an excellent opportunity for an experienced UXO Technician I in support of the National Ground Intelligence Center (NGIC) operations in Aberdeen, Maryland! The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience providing Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) and Ammunition services for a large organization.
Responsibilities Minimum/General Experience:

The UXO Technician I shall possess and demonstrate the following knowledge and skills:

• Expertise and knowledge in providing identification of U.S. and foreign guided missiles; bombs and bomb fuses; projectiles and projectile fuses; grenades and grenade fuses; rockets and rocket fuses; land mines and associated components; pyrotechnic items; military explosives and demolition materials
• Experience in transporting and storing UXO, assuring compliance with Federal, state, and local laws
• Experience in the operation of a personnel decontamination station maintenance and operator checks on all team equipment
• Experience providing maintenance and operator checks on all UXO team equipment
• Experience with safe handling procedures; team preventive medicine and field sanitation procedures
• Must possess or be eligible to obtain a valid Class C Commercial Drivers License with a Hazardous Material endorsement
• Perform physical inspections/inventory and maintain inspection and storage records IAW with local SOP and checklists
• Perform and oversee management and procedural application of manual and automated inventory control and accounting functions
• Operate and maintain Government owned munitions/material handling equipment (MMHE) and comply with explosive, chemical, safety, security and environmental directives and practices associated with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and DoD operational standards
• Must possess or be available for training to receive a Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) Certification and the Technical Transportation of Hazardous Materials course (AMMO-62)
• Must possess or be eligible to receive Ammunition Certification Level I
• Must possess or be eligible to receive Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) Certification

Skills & Requirements Other Desirable Requirements:
• The ability to work independently; work well with others in a team environment; and function effectively in difficult, emotionally charged situations
• The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.

Minimum Education:
The individual shall possess a Associates’ degree in a related area. Direct experience may be substituted for education.
