Qualifications: 5 years of related security experience
Prior management/supervisory experience
Analytical abilities
Experience in a training capacity for security related training
Security related experience in high risk security environments (preferred)
Previous experience working with Newsgathering teams internationally and domestically (preferred)
Bachelor s Degree or equivalent experienceDuties: This position has managerial oversight of the CNN-NY, Washington DC and Los Angeles bureau security operations. This position provides guidance and review of adherence to security policies and procedures at these domestic locations.
The position has supervisory responsibility over the Security Managers at NY, DC and LA and works with those positions to insure security operations are in conformance with Corporate Security policies and procedures. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Coordinates and reviews security operations at CNN-NY, CNN-DC and CNN-LA through communication with the respective managers at each location.
Assists as needed, the Security Operations managers to develop good security procedures and security operations at CNN-NY, CNN-Dc and CNN-LA
Prepares and manages TPMP performance standards and provides performance reviews and feedback for these Security Manager positions.
Liaises as needed with senior executives and management at CNN-NY, DC and LA and with TW Corporate Security
Through CNN-NY, DC and LA Security Managers, oversees budget and allocations to those Security Operations

This position has responsibility for the organization and direction of corporate special safety programs for company’s CNN, Entertainment and Sales personnel world-wide. These safety programs focus primarily on employee protection in high risk areas and crisis response plans in the event of any security emergency. This position indirectly reports to the EVP CNNI for those responsibilities affecting CNNI Newsgathering efforts.
Develop policy and procedures for Turner Safety programs
Develop standards for Personal Protection Equipment and maintain inventory for all PPE assets
Develop and manage security vendor contracts
Develop plans and procedures for emergency response and insure coordination of response is consistent with company crisis management plan as necessary
Coordinate Turner Security relationship with domestic and international law enforcement agencies, U.S. State Dept. and other security related agencies.
Manages international travel security programs and security awareness programs/training for international business travelers
Direct collaboration with Newsgathering desk management in regard to safety issues
Works with International Newsgathering Desk in initial assessment of danger levels of proposed assignment locations and deployments.
Develops and provides intelligence assessments on risks/threats to international personnel and travelers
Serves as Communication Coordinator for any international incident impacting any Turner employees
Vets and develops a list of trusted security vendors for any international security needs
Post trip debriefs, follow-up and systematic revision to field safety matters

This position is responsible for developing and implementing training programs for international business travelers and High-Risk Newsgathering correspondents and teams for deployments to high risk areas
Develops, coordinates and provides field training sessions (Surviving Hostile Region) and refresher course for all Newsgathering Teams assigned to provide news coverage in high risk environments
Maintains rosters of all CNN staff trained and insures training is current
Develops and provides international security awareness training for international locations in coordination with in-country personnel and for international business travelers
