Responsibilities & Duties
The duties of the Armed Security Officer for the New Boston Air Station shall include but are not limited to the following:

  • Maintain the security of all areas by taking actions as required by appropriate procedures and checklists.
  • Take charge of your post by securing and protecting personnel and property for which you are responsible until properly relieved. Comply with orders and instructions given. These responsibilities continue until relieved by proper authority.
  • Report all violations of orders you must enforce. You have the authority to detain anyone violating those orders.
  • Give the alarm in case of disorder or emergency.
  • Report unusual events that threaten the security of the installation or endangers life or property.
  • Take reasonable counteraction to save life and property or lessen danger. At the same time, you must maintain the security of your post and remain alert for other possible violations during the emergency.
  • Maintain primary Entry and Egress location at the Base Entrance
  • Conduct physical and Electronic surveillance in all areas of assigned responsibility.
  • Provide for Base Traffic Control when required
  • Maintain checklists and checkpoints throughout your assigned shift.
Qualifications
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must have a H.S. Diploma or GED.
  • Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must have two (2) years’ experience in an armed security/law enforcement related profession, either civilian or military.
  • Must be able to read, speak, write, and understand the English language.
  • Must have intermediate written English skills, including ability to prepare detailed written reports and fill out forms.
  • Other Requirements: Must be able to obtain a NH Armed Guard License.
  • Must be able to pass all training and obtain all required certifications.
  • All prospective new hire must be able to pass a pre-employment physical including a Physical Activities Test (PAT).
  • PAT must be passed in order to proceed through the hiring process. The PAT consists of the following activities: 
    • Vertical jump test. After a 10 minute warm up, successfully jump 16.5” with the Vertec Jump Measurement System or yard stick, followed by a 10 minute break. 
    • Illinois Agility Run. Successfully complete the course in 18.1 seconds, followed by a 10 minute break. 
    • 300 meter run. Complete the distance in 66 seconds or less; followed by a 10 minute break. 
    • Pushups. Execute 32 pushups with no time limit, followed by a 30 minute break. 
    • 1. 5 Mile Run. Run 1.5 miles in 16 minutes, 17 seconds (16:17), followed by a cool down period.
  • Must be able to pass a background investigation to include criminal, credit and driving record checks.
  • Must be able to pass US Government background investigation for required security clearance at a minimum level of “Secret”.
  • Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968, Suitability applies.
  • Must meet client suitability.
