SOF Communications Trainer

Duties and Responsibilities:
-The technical trainer provides instruction for a pre-existing curriculum of communications training and conducts evaluation of the skills taught for Marine Special Operations Command Critical Skills Operator’s communications training package.
-The training package consists of ten training days, taught four times per year.
-Trainer conducts entry level training centered on utilizing computer applications, radio procedures, employing field expedient antennas and operation of tactical radios and satellite terminals.
-The trainer provides subject matter expertise to the Officer-in-Charge and his staff regarding communications devices and networks, conducts analysis to ensure training objectives were achieved and provides feedback for course/instruction improvements.
-Technical trainer provides comprehensive programs of instruction, syllabus for all communications training events and attends conferences and meetings as required to coordinate training events.

Required Qualifications:
- Detailed knowledge of US Marine and/or Special Operations communications procedures and operations.
- Instructor level knowledgeable of each of the following communications systems: CYZ-10 Data Transfer Device, AN/PRC-148, AN/PRC-117, AN/PRC-150 tactical radios as well as the AN/PSC-5 SATCOM terminal and the Special Operating Force Deployable Node – Lite satellite terminals
- Superb oral and written communications skills.
- Knowledgeable of applicable training methodologies, courseware, interactive multimedia instruction techniques, and learning systems.
- Thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is strongly desired.
- Formal instructor training required along with experience developing curricula and programs of instruction.
- Typically requires bachelor’s degree or equivalent and five to seven years of related (training, sales and/or technical) experience.

- Current Secret security clearance is required.
