Job Description 
Enforce company rules and regulations designed to protect company personnel and property. This position reports to the Guard Sergeant. Guards have little latitude as to what duties they perform, but great discretion in how thoroughly they perform their assigned jobs. Guards have extensive interaction with employees and visitors.Guards must enforce company rules and answer questions from employees and visitors. Assigned duties may include: parking lot patrol/enforcement; monitor control room; gate; various yard support duties. Other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
Actively participates in implementing and monitoring continuous improvement initiatives to improve safety, improve quality, reduce cycle time and reduce costs.
Required Education/Training An understanding of all Security, Safety, and Fire department operations.

Experience 
Must know all plant rules and regulations relating to employees, contractors, vendors and visitors.Requires knowledge of the layout of the shipyard. Basic operating knowledge of computers to monitor fire, flood and other alarms.Must be able to operate and communicate using radio equipment. A valid drivers license is necessary to operate Security vehicles. Position may require classified clearance.
Unique/Additional Requirements Physical requirements may include: the ability to climb on and around ships, handle potentially stressful situations, extended periods of standing and walking, ability to commute to all areas of the shipyard, ability to communicate clearly in English in order to receive and respond to emergency calls. Physical environment includes work in an outdoor shipyard environment.
