We are hiring a Personnel Security Consultant to be based out of Minneapolis, MN or Denver, CO. The Consultant will answer calls from the screening line, respond to personal and team shared emails, intake information from candidates, perform data entry, adjudicate files, and complete research as needed for special projects for regulatory needs. Preferred applicants will have-administrative assistant, call center, security screening, or similar experience.
Summary
The purpose of this position is to screen employee and contract applicants of Xcel Energy, Inc. to ensure the trustworthiness and reliability of workers hired by Xcel and provide production support for the drug testing program.
Essential Responsibilities
Ensure appropriate and necessary information is gathered from the applicant, coordinate background investigation, analyze data and determine if the applicant should be granted security clearance and/or driver qualification in accordance with established security and medical criteria and federal/state regulations.
Business area liaison. Manage customer portfolio by developing and maintaining regular reporting and communication rapport with key customers to ensure their business needs are met and applicants are screened in a timely fashion. Track and trend performance data to identify problems in processing and/or adjudicating cases.
Ensure all files, information and reports are treated confidentially and secured in accordance with established policies and procedures. Keep abreast of state and federal rules and regulations for record retention, privacy laws, critical infrastructure screening requirements and Department of Homeland Security regulations.
Develop and maintain reporting by employee, department and customer and produce 'roll up' information as necessary.
Policy and procedure development and maintenance to assure compliance with federal and state employment law.
Required
Bachelor's degree (6 years related experience may substitute for the degree)
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to work flexible hours to meet situational demands
Occasional travel may be required

Knowledge of-PeopleSoft and screening databases
