Overview:

CENTERRA is seeking qualified applicants to fill Armed Security Officer positions (32-40 hours per week) at the Center for Domestic Preparedness located in Anniston, AL. CENTERRA provides a competitive salary and benefits. Must have a minimum 4 years of security, civilian law enforcement or an equivalent position with the Armed Forces (military). Must be fluent in speaking and writing in English. Proficiency in basic computer skills is a plus. Applicant must be able to meet medical/physical fitness requirements.

Responsibilities:
Works directly for Shift Supervisor and Project Manager. Ensures the accomplishment of requirements in the Contract Statement of Work. Ensures compliance with orders, policies, and procedures, with emphasis on safe conduct of operations. Completes monthly required training to ensure job proficiency in all areas of security. Controls entry/access to the facility or to restricted areas within the facility. Daily duties consist of enforcement of system of personnel identification; package and vehicle inspections; performs both static and roving patrols; identify, correct, secure, or arrange to correct security violations and initiate necessary reports; performs traffic control as needed; receives, issues and account for keys, locks, and access control passes; monitors fire/chemical agent/intrusion detection systems and other facility protection devices/ alarms. Conducts aggressive patrols; operates security systems; identifies, reports and detains persons suspected of violation/unauthorized access attempt to CDP facilities until appropriate law enforcement arrive. Maintains work area in a clean and orderly condition. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Must have a minimum of 4 years of security or civilian law enforcement experience or an equivalent position with the Armed Forces. Must obtain and hold security clearances, and passes semi-annual weapons qualification standards. Furthermore, must submit to and successfully complete pre-placement screening and evaluation, which includes submission to a criminal background check, financial institutions/credit bureau check, and disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act. Effective English language verbal and writing skills are required. Must have high school diploma or GED. Leadership skills are necessary to motivate high performance and teamwork. Excellent interpersonal skills are required for customer and team relations. Security Officer must maintain accurate knowledge of the most current orders, regulations, procedures, policies, and response plans. Proficiency in basic computer functions including keyboard entry, and work processing are essential. Officer must be able to meet medical/physical fitness requirements of the position.
