Position Description: Airport Security Assessment Expert
Please note this solicitation is for the development of a competitive proposal. If our bid is successful, work would be scheduled to begin in the fall of 2012 and conclude within one year. This position is with the O’Gara Group Training and Services Division in support of their proposal to win a contract that includes conducting site surveys and security assessments at 57 public-use general aviation airports in the Commonwealth of Virginia. You will be part of a team of experts that will develop or revise existing security plans and emergency procedures based on the findings of these assessments. You will be responsible for scheduling the workflow, overseeing the assessment, conducting an analysis of the current policies and procedures, identifying weaknesses and gaps, establishing or revising current plans to create a “secure” Airport, and providing a detailed summary of suggested improvements with an estimated cost to the State’s Department of Aviation. You will be based out of the O’Gara offices in Arlington and/or Montross, VA but the position will require extensive travel throughout Virginia. Travel costs in direct support of the execution of the contract will be reimbursed. Relocation costs will not be paid.
· Coordinate and liaison with O’Gara senior leadership on a routine basis regarding contractor performance, compliance and execution obstacles.
· Coordinate and liaison with the government’s Program Manager
· Manages the contract workforce for maximum effectiveness and cross utilization.
· General Knowledge of DOVA Security Templates for Compliance with Current TSA recommendations and Best Practices.
· Ability to create Security Audit and Plan Templates
· Working knowledge of TSA policies and measurement tools used in airport security assessments
· A background in airport security or experience working for TSA is desired
· Experience working with/for the Virginia Department of Aviation
· Experience conducting airport security assessments and providing airport specific security plans and Airport specific procedures for emergency situations
· Ability to develop emergency procedures that compliment security plans
