Description:
The EOD Instructor assists the Naval School Explosive Ordnance Disposal (NAVSCOLEOD) Training Manager in the education students from the United States military services, partner nations, and other Government agencies in high-risk environments to qualify as Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technicians. Instructors will perform instruction of military and civilian personnel, related instructional support, and curriculum maintenance for courses/segments in the areas of EOD. Instructors prepare service members morally, mentally, and physically to succeed across the full range of military and EOD operations.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Meet all daily instructor attendance, qualification, teaching assignments and instructor changes as directed
* Perform teaching assignments according to the ISD process and NAVSCOLEOD directives/policies
* Interface directly with the Division Officer on all matters related to curriculum and training execution
* Comply and support the instructor phase-in and qualification/certification program within specified minimum timelines
* Comply with and support the instructor evaluation program
* Implement updates to curriculum, service policies and support the curriculum surveillance/maintenance program
* Execute and comply with the student assessment program
* Perform training support duties, to include class and equipment preparation, protection of controlled and classified material, equipment/training material accountability and maintenance, and administration of training control documents
* Assist with monthly and quarterly reports, and provide special requests for information by the government
* Assist with the Company Quality Control Plan (QCP) in meeting the PWS
* Comply with all safety and security requirements mandated by the PWS and COR
* Comply with “drug-free” employment programs

Job Requirements:
* Current DoD Secret Security Clearance at the time of hiring
* Ten years experience as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) technician
* Two years experience as a full-time instructor teaching subject matter relating to Explosive Ordnance Disposal operations
* Certified US Navy Master Training Specialist, or US Military Service Master Instructor course, or equivalent
* American Society of Training and Development Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CLCP) (preferred)
* Graduate of the US Navy School for EOD (NAVSCOLEOD)
* High School Graduate or equivalent
* Qualified in Adult CPR/AED
* Posses a State Individual Drivers License
* Pass a Physical¤ and Mental¤¤ examination as a condition of employment
* Pass a “drug-free” employment screening (initial and post hiring annual test)
* Ability to meet curriculum certification requirements within 30-days of employmentNOTES:
¤ Duty performance requires moderate physical exertion, such as long periods standing, walking over rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces; requiring bending, crouching, stooping, reaching, or similar activities in all types of weather conditions ranging from very hot to very cold. The work requires lifting of items up to 50 lbs., such as tools and inert ordnance items. Individual cannot have abnormal and uncorrectable near vision, or fail a color acuity test.
