The Security Advisor is responsible for security at oilfield operations in the Chevron MidContinent Business Unit (MCBU) which operates in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Colorado, and Wyoming. (2,000 employees/ 4,000 contractors). Responsibilities include: processing confidential information on behalf of management; investigative security; overseeing the adherence to the Chevron drug and alcohol policies; working with management at various locations to improve security conditions; Contracting Security Guards when needed, Field Security, Facility Security.
Position Details: Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Conducts minor investigations and handles special management requests as assigned.
Coordinates security issues at company sponsored events, coordinating with Public Affairs and others as appropriate
Develops relationships with local law enforcement in areas of operations
Advises management of identified security needs with appropriate recommendations. Coordinate duties with Chevron Global Security on all security-related issues. Provide oversight on all security systems, including gates, guard tours, barriers, alarms, fences.
Works with other company security personnel on the repair of existing security systems and installation of new projects. Evaluates and chooses alternatives for these systems. Assists building services and corporate security on access control and CCTV projects at company sites and provides security assistance at field sites
Business Unit liaison with various law enforcement agencies and local security contacts. Represents Chevron MCBU at various meetings and functions. Acts as Business Unit Security First Responder in emergencies.
Work with Environmental, Safety, and Human Resources personnel as it relates to security matters, including contraband inspections. Maintains required Facility Security Plan, SOX & OE security components at local sites.
Provides oversight for several security programs, including long term foreign visitors, parking permits, locks and keys, etc. by directing appropriate contractor staff.
Travel a minimum of 50% to MCBU location with up to 90% in some months.Required Qualifications:
5-10 years of progressively responsible positions with federal, state or local law enforcement that include an Investigative Background.Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Business, or Criminal Justice would be preferred.
In addtion, training on communication skills, case development and project management skills are preferred.Relocation Options:
