Facility Security Officer (FSO)

Essential Functions:
Verifies security clearance status for visitors and potential new employees, subcontractors, and consultants.
Prepares visit requests for access to job site based on appropriate clearance and need to know.
Produces visit requests for employees/subcontractors/consultants to visit other cleared facilities
Obtains and maintains appropriate security clearances for all contractor site employees, subcontractors and consultants
Provides all security-related briefings and training required by NISPOM and client.
Responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable corporate, government agency and customer security requirements.
Writes security component of proposals
Uses JPAS for personnel security administration
Maintains personnel security files
Provides classification guidance applicable to contract performance
Acting SSO support on call
Acting COMSEC Custodian

Knowledge Skills & Abilities 
Successful completion of the following pre-requisite Defense Security Service on-line courses:
Essentials of Industrial Security Management (or current DSS equivalent)
Safeguarding Classified Information (or current DSS equivalent)
FSO Role in the NISP (IS021.06) - (formerly FSO Training course)
JPAS Training
Five years of office administration and facility security experience
Associates Degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school - -OR- - 5-7 years related experience and/or training --OR-- equivalent combination of education and experience
Active TS/SCI

Preferred Qualifications: 
Concise communicator who pays close attention to detail
COMSEC Custodian training
Ability to work well with minimum supervision
Ability to multi-task when needed
