Vanguard, one of the world's

choice, seeks an Assistant Security Manager to assist in the execution
and implementation of the Global Security mission at our Charlotte, NC
location.
Your Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Your Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conducts security investigations, as needed, related to incidents of theft, burglary, suspicious persons, harassing or threatening telephone calls, domestic disputes, vehicle accidents, bomb threats, etc.
- Responds to threatening situations in a timely manner in accordance with established protocols; conducts threat briefings, as required. Responds to all medical emergencies with the contract guard service EMT. Provides assistance during medical emergencies, fire drills, building evacuations and alarm activations.
- Manages the Access Control and Event Management System, i.e., to grant authorized access through the preparation of access cards, prepare various reports, and assist in the management of crew access.
- Manages the key accountability and key issue system. Maintains the Master keying system. Handles daily requests for lock repair, core changes and key issuance. Coordinates upgrades and changes with local locksmiths.
- Assists the Security Manager in managing the pre-screening process for the site, to include Crew, Contractor, etc., background investigations and electronic fingerprint checks. Assists in the process to adjudicate adverse pre-screening results.
- Assists the Security Manager in planning and supervising security support for various events which require security; conduct Advance Site Reviews, prepare both Advance Reports, and Operational Plans. Assists with responses to security incidents and requests. Reviews security incident reports, providing appropriate management oversight and follow up.
- Assists in the management of the contract guard service vendor, to include the Security Command Center, and the security officer workforce. Provides training and guidance as needed.
- Assists in the management of the technical services vendor, to include appropriate oversight related to cameras, card readers, DVRs, etc.
- Assists in conducting monthly Crisis Management refresher training with the security officers. Supports Global Security goals, objectives, and initiatives. Participates as a site Contingency Team member, to include attendance at meetings, training sessions, tabletop exercises and actual events. Assists in the preparation of monthly dashboard metrics.
- Manages Global Security Programs, to include suspicious package response, shelter-in-place, escort/visitor program, and assist in all crew relations issues, to include terminations, all of which are in furtherance of the Workplace Safety Program, in the absence of the Security Manager.
- Serves as the Security Project Manager for construction projects as well as for space reconfigurations and expansions, to include managing the security contractors, etc.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Minimum of three years of security experience required; military, corporate security or law enforcement experience preferred.
- Must have experience and be familiar with electronic security equipment including: card access control, closed circuit TV, alarm systems, intercoms and security hardware.
- Strong PC knowledge preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certification within 6 months required.
- Basic investigative skills.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
