Job Summary:
The Corporate Security Supervisor (CSS) is responsible for supervising and directing all facets of Security and Life Safety at the Indianapolis Customer Support Center (CSC-I). The CSS is housed at
CSC-I, and reports directly to the Corporate Security Manager (CSM) and the Director of Corporate Security, located in Mooresville, NC.
Essential Responsibilities:
-Maintain a 24/7 “on-call” status, with expected response capability.
-High-energy, proactive leader with strong leadership, coaching and mentoring skills, good inter-personal projection and excellent communication skills.
-Must have the ability to make quick and independent crisis related decisions.
-Conduct initial investigations involving criminal activity, accidents, company policy violations, sensitive investigations and acts of misconduct at Corporate locations, and report appropriate findings to the Director of Corporate Security, Vice President of Loss Prevention (if appropriate) and local law enforcement as required.
-Effect and maintain a positive working relationship with the local Fire / Police / EMS agencies servicing the CSC-I area. This liaison will to include but not be limited to: fire alarms; medical emergencies; hostile intruders; protests; trespassers; and crimes in progress.
-Create and manage the administration / execution of the Fire Evacuation plan at CSC-I. This plan will include conducting the required semi-annual fire drills and the coordination / training of the Emergency Captains assigned to the individual areas inside CSC-A.
-Provide Human Resources with requested badge access information for Employee/Contractors relating to personnel and time and attendance issues. Provide assistance with escorting terminated employees / contractors from the site and immediately terminating their badge access.
-Serve as a member of the Threat Assessment Team, responsible for conducting the initial investigation of threats occurring at CSC-I. Responsible for reporting these findings to HR / Legal via a Threat Assessment Report (TAR).
-Responsible for the creation and execution of the Emergency Medical Response Plan, as well as responding to and rendering aid during any emergency.
-Must provide clear guidance to the contract security site supervisors and the security officers assigned to CSC-I and ensure that all newly assigned security officers to CSC-I receive the proper level of training. Must continuously monitor the performance of these security officers to ensure that they are correctly following Lowe’s established policies and protocols.
-Administer the badge access system, to include making employee/contractor badges at CSC-I. Responsible for training security officers to act as “back-ups”, so they are familiar with the badge access system and be able to create badges.
-Must maintain a professional relationship with the contract security Area Operations Manager to ensure that Lowe’s receives the appropriate level of staffing (in terms of the number of officers and the quality of officers assigned).
-Foster a “team oriented” working relationship with the Corporate Facilities Supervisor at CSC-I, as the Lowe’s Facilities Department is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all security related equipment (DVR’s / cameras / security gates / locks / access device entry points/ anti-pass back portals / etc.).
-Constantly monitor all of the security related equipment and immediately request Lowe’s Facilities to make the necessary repairs. The CSS must keep the Corporate Security Manager abreast of equipment issues and take the necessary steps to ensure that security is not compromised before these repairs have been completed.

Required Minimum Qualifications:
•A minimum of 15 years combined experience in either law enforcement and/or the corporate security field; with at least 10 years of supervisory experience (work in a campus environment for a Fortune 200 corporation is strongly preferred).
•4-year accredited degree in relevant field, or equivalent experience.
•Demonstrated knowledge of various computer programs to include: Microsoft Office products and Access Control systems.
•Demonstrated knowledge of the most up-to-date security and life safety systems, to include but not limited to: CCTV & DVR systems; fire and burglar systems; building access device systems, etc.
•Excellent written and oral communications skills.
•Demonstrated knowledge in crisis management and related emergency response for incidents that could impact a business campus environment.
•Demonstrated knowledge of contract security requirements and business practices
•Demonstrated knowledge and ability to project manage security construction/installation projects.
•Knowledge of Indiana criminal codes, civil laws and local ordinances.
•Previous life safety certification/training (CPR / Emergency medicine).
Preferred Qualifications:
•20+ years combined experience in either law enforcement and/or security field, with at least 15 years of Supervisory experience. Verifiable experience supervising a security guard force in conjunction with overseeing all security-related matters for a corporate campus.
•ASIS International certifications: Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and or Physical Security Professional (PSP).
