Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) Operator

Description

The GSOC Operator supports the operational needs of all units globally through communications, tracking, research and data systems.
Duties
  • Support investigative and protective teams in the field.
  • Utilize communications support equipment.
  • Conduct research to support operations.
  • Monitor all systems as directed.
Responsibilities
  • Monitors electronic systems such as fire detection, electronic access control, closed circuit television, alarm systems, and other automated systems to deter and protect against fire, theft, vandalism, terrorism, and all illegal and unauthorized activity.
  • Monitors GPS tracking systems and other technology to support investigative and protective operations.
  • Conducts research on persons of interest as directed by the GSOC Lead.
  • Monitors media as needed to support operations and advises teams of critical information impacting operations.
  • Supports logistical requirements of teams in the field.
  • Initiates and coordinates engineering, security, fire, or police department response upon detection of unauthorized, suspicious, or problem activity as dictated by security procedures and under the authority or direction of the Console Operations Supervisor.
  • Enters and retrieves data utilizing the organization’s case management system.
  • Maintains appropriate logs or records of activities and observations during assigned shift.
  • Receives, evaluates, and logs calls to the GSOC’s phone and radio line from employees, contractors, the public, law enforcement, and off-site facilities.
  • As directed, may be called upon to prepare case reports and may be called upon to testify in court.
  • Performs other security duties as dictated by the work environment and assigned by the GSOC Lead.

  • Demonstrates an ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to meet the demands for interaction demanded by the position.
  • Demonstrates sound judgment and ability to respond to stressful situations with confidence and calm.
  • Capable of effective interaction with the GSOC Supervisor and other company employees and clients (as may be necessary for the completion of assigned duties).
  • Capable of maintaining professional attitude in the handling of customer-service requests.
  • Capable of working in a team environment.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail and ability to be comfortable working with a variety of electronic systems.
  • Knowledge of security systems and equipment in a business environment.
  • Basic computer and typing skills necessary for the input of data, handling requests, and writing security reports as required by the position.
  • Capable of conducting effective research.
Experience
Suitable candidate must possess a High School education or equivalent.
General Requirements
Job may require standing, sitting, and moving for extended periods of time. Exposure to extreme environmental conditions occurs occasionally. Individual may be required to travel. Ability to perform essential job functions with or without a reasonable accommodation.
