Antiterrorism/Naval Security Force Instructors will perform classroom and field laboratory support for high-risk training evolutions.

Successful instructor candidates will perform some or all of the duties that follow:
Develop, organize, and conduct training and educational programs in support of Antiterrorism (AT), Security Operations, and/or weapons training, to include,
Legacy Environment (Group-Paced, Instructor-Led)
Traditional classroom didactic instruction in a Navy resident schoolhouse environment.
Delivering an on-site instructor teaching approved curriculum.
Legacy Lab Environment (Group-Paced, Instructor-Led)
Group-paced dynamic instruction in a Navy schoolhouse environment.
Providing on- site instruction/facilitation.
Supporting the instruction of the some of the following courses:
Small Arms Marksmanship Instructor (SAMI)
Security Reaction Force (Advanced) (SRF-A)
Armed Sentry/Security Reaction Force (Basic) (AS/SRF-B)
Non-Compliant Boarding Visit, Board, Search, and Seizure (NCB VBSS)
Master at Arms Class “A” School (MAA)
Submarine Force Crew Served Weapons Instructor (SUBFOR CSWI)
Crew Served Weapons Operations and Maintenance (CSW O&M)
Crew Served Weapons Instructor (CSWI)
Antiterrorism Training Supervisor (AT TRASUP)
Develops, tests, maintains, and delivers training programs and related materials in support of customer weapons training objectives.
Establishes course content and objectives.
Conducts training sessions and develops criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of training activities.
Maintains records of training activities, participant progress, and program effectiveness.
Updates course documentation on a regular basis to ensure timeliness and relevance.
Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
Participates in special projects as required.

Antiterrorism/Naval Security Force Instructor must:
Must be a US Citizen.
Must obtain a suitable evaluation for mandatory medical, psychological, and drug screenings in accordance with OPNAVINST 1500.75C.
Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work/military experience.
Possess one (or more) of the basic instructor qualifications as listed below:
Navy NEC 9502 (Instructor), or
Navy NEC 9518 (Naval Leadership Development Program (NAVLEAD) Instructor, or
Graduate of one of the following courses of instruction:
Instructional Delivery Continuum (IDC) Journeyman Instructor Training (JIT) (A-012-0077)
IDC JIT Mobile Training Team (A-012-1011)
Naval Leadership Facilitator (P-012-0045)
Facilitator Training Course (P-012-0075)
Nuclear Instruction Qualifications (NFAS) (A-661-0108)
Nuclear Instruction Qualifications (NNPS) (A-661-0109)
Other DoD Service designation (or equivalency) upon approval of the CENSECFOR DOT
USMC Formal Schools Instructor Course (FSIC) graduation date prior to 31 August 2009, or
Completion of a civilian (or commercial) formal course of instruction which has been evaluated and certified as a Journeyman Instructor Training (JIT) equivalency by the Center for Personal and Professional Development (CPPD), including:
Basic Instructor Development (BUS 2010), Tidewater Community College
Instructional Methods and Materials (WED 462), Southern Illinois University
Methods of Teaching Vocational Subjects (VTP 312), State University of New York at Oswego
Methods of Instruction in Adult and Career Information (ACED 4690, Valdosta State University
Methods in Vocational Education (SEC 364), Western Kentucky University
Possess or be able to obtain current certification in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Basic First Aid from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, National Safety Council, American Safety and Health Institute (Must be a non-CBT certification course)
Possess high personal standards of technical knowledge and professional competence in delivering training material.
Possess the ability to perform in a military environment.
Possess a familiarity with the organization and hierarchy of the U. S. Navy, military rank/grade structure.
Possess a knowledge of Navy and military terminology, and shipboard/installation environments and configurations.
Possess knowledge of basic and advance training techniques and of computer technology applications as they apply to instructional delivery.
Possess at least two years of past military experience in an operational environment or as a Law Enforcement representative with a military or civilian security force
Possess a basic understanding of Military/Civilian Security Force techniques
Be qualified as a small arms weapons instructor (NEC 0812 or equivalent).
Completed one of the small arms instructor courses listed in paragraph 11 of OPNAVINST 3591.1F (Small Arms Training and Qualification)
Possess or be able to be qualified as a crew served weapons instructor (NEC 0814).
Completed one of the crew served weapons instructor courses listed in paragraph 11 of OPNAVINST 3591.1F.
In addition, completion of Security Force Weapons PQS (NAVEDTRA 43466-C)
Must be physically fit enough to be capable of performing all training evolutions including the ability to effectively complete weapons qualifications in the standing, kneeling and prone positions, ascend or descend ladders and go through narrow passageways, and be free of any abnormal fear of heights.
Able to sign a statement which acknowledges that they understand the provisions and consequences of the Lautenberg Amendment, and that they have not been convicted of any offense covered by the act.
Must possess or be capable of possessing a SECRET security clearance.
Must possess an active state driver’s license.
