Job Description
Linxx Global Solutions, a fast growing Government contracting company, with corporate offices located in Virginia Beach, VA, is currently looking for Security Guards to fill positions in Orient Point, NY.
Responsibilities
Perform a variety of security-related duties, depending on the type of posts to which they are assigned and perform all tasks in accordance with the duties outlined on the Security Guard Post Assignment Record (Post Orders).
Operate and enforce the Government’s system of personnel identification and access/egress control. Process visitors and perform package inspections.
Operate all security equipment on post and conduct/report equipment performance tests.
Answer questions and provide directions to visitors and building tenants.
Conduct roving patrols and serve as the first responder to all security alarms and emergencies occurring within the area of assignment.
Maintain physical security, law and order as prescribed by statute, regulation, and Post Orders.
Required Skills
Must be a citizen of the United States.
Must have a Social Security Card issued and approved by the Social Security Administration.
Must be 21 years of age or older.
Must possess a high school diploma or a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) from an accredited institution recognized by U.S. Department of Education.
Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
Must meet one of the following experience/education requirements:
Three years of security experience with the past five years; or
An Associate’s Degree in criminal justice, law enforcement, or physical security; or
Three years of military or National Guard (active duty or reserve) experience; or
Successful completion of a state certified Law Enforcement Education and Training or Police Officer’s Standard Training (POST) course; or
Any reasonable combination of the above.
Must possess a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in the state of New York.
Must possess a license to work as an armed security guard in the states of New York and/or Connecticut (post specific).
Must have a professional appearance.
