Senior Security Specialist

Acentia is seeking a Senior Security Specialist to join our team supporting a Large Health
Care Client in Falls Church, VA.
The Security Specialist will advise and assist the Client’s Security Manager and team with daily operations for physical security and safety.

Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to) the following:
Provide direct support in reference to Access Control Services and assist in the planning and implementation of new systems. Access and control procedures are in accordance with the policies and procedures established by DoDI 5200.01 and local requirements.
Assist in developing programs in support of physical security for DoD customer locations.
Conduct Semi-Annual Material and Equipment Inventories and other required Inspections to ensure successful semi-annual re-certification
Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and guidance for Access and Control and COMSEC
Assist in reviewing SOPS, policies and guidelines
Provide back support in managing office duties in absence of PHYSEC Officer
Coordinate and support meetings, teleconferences, and data calls
Document and report any variances, discrepancies, or violations immediately
Assist with tracking and documenting material, publications and equipment from receipt through final disposition
Conducting facility inspections
Works with middle management to solve problems and concerns
 
Required Skills
Minimum Experience:
5 Years’ experience working within a sensitive or classified area in any government agency with a focus on Security (Access Control, Personnel Security, Anti – Terrorism, etc) – Required
4 Years’ experience and responsibility supporting antiterrorism and safety briefings (Desired)
2 years’ experience with JPAS, Criticality, Vulnerability, and Risk Assessments (Required)
Knowledge of National, DIA and DoD security concepts, principles, practices, policies, directives, and programs for managing SCI security programs (Required)
Proficient using Windows XP, Microsoft Office Suite of products (Outlook, Explorer, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and SharePoint)
Knowledgeable of regulatory policies and guidance governing access control (Required)

Education/Certifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (highly desired)
Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) – Desired

Clearance:
U.S. Citizenship is required for this position as per Contract requirements
Active DoD Secret Clearance or ability to obtain a Secret Clearance (Required)

Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to sit for extended periods up to 80% of time; frequently required to move about to access file cabinets and use office equipment such as PC, copier, fax, telephone, cell phone, etc.
Occasionally required to reach overhead, bend, and lift objects of up to 10 lbs.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include use of computer monitor screens up to 80% of time.

Work Environment:
Individual’s primary workstation is located in an office area.
The noise level in this environment is low to moderate.
