As a Contract Security Specialist in Operational Security, this role involves pro-active business management participation and identification of opportunities aligned with achieving business goals and objectives across the enterprise.
Oversee and facilitate all contract security and guard force activities as well as performance metrics for the enterprise.
Monitor advances in security related hardware and systems, leverage knowledge to provide best value and efficiently protect people, property and information.
Deliver information and expectations to contract guard force for optimum security procedures and post orders.
Identify, extract and develop trend analysis studies utilizing tools and resources specific to the industry, sites and business units (MS SharePoint) to provide options while communicating accurate and timely recommendations on business and security related risks to the Security Director with solid focus on detail.
Address client security questions regarding security policies and processes.
Monitor and assist with ensuring contract security compliance by security vendors.
Assist the Director of Security with Security Vulnerability Assessments and developing security plans and programs to protect the personnel and assets for the enterprise.
Identify existence of securable resources and work with resource owners in line-of-business organizations to determine appropriate security policies and safeguards
Consult with Manager of Security Systems to evaluate, select, install, and configure hardware and software systems that provide appropriate physical security functions while aligning processes by contract guards to achieve the security objectives of the enterprise.
Assist resource owners and vendors in understanding and responding to security reported failures.
May review operation logs and event console activity to determine cause of security-related events or to identify potential security-related events.
Document security procedures, site plans; maintain resource classification scheme; may be required on occasion to present security status, project status, and security training to audiences from management to field staff as appropriate.
Proactively protect the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of personnel, information and assets in the custody of or processed by the company by:
Responding in a timely manner to a loss or misuse of information assets.
Participating in investigations of lost or stolen assets.
Maintaining chain of custody for lost and recovered assets.
Developing executive and special event protection plans.
Maintaining the integrity of the MS SharePoint Incident Management System, access control badging system and visitor management system.
Communicate and resolve security exposures, misuse, or noncompliance situations.
Build and deploy training programs for all users of the access control, SharePoint and CCTV systems in conjunction with the Manager of the Security Systems.
Train resource owners in the implementation of necessary security controls or new/upgraded security software and devices:
Analyze new software/hardware applications or tool implementations for implications to existing security software and devices.
Develop and implement security educational programs, conducting awareness seminars and workshops as appropriate for contract security guards.
Monitor various information resources for new threats and vulnerabilities, assess risk they pose to the organization, and report risks to the Director of Security, Legal, Human Resources and Management.
Respond to 24-hour emergencies, crisis or incidents. Some travel may be required and on short notice.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; plus 2-10 years related experience in law enforcement with a broad range of corporate security experience including business planning, physical security and executive protection and contract security guard force daily management.
Must be proficient in Video Surveillance, Badging systems (Ccure 9000 Enterprise preferred).
Must be skilled in Incident Management Systems (SharePoint preferred), Security Operations Center operations, and the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and MS Word).
Must have a working knowledge of Intrusion Detection Systems.
Must have the ability to learn, grasp and retain a variety of system, network and security related concepts, information and procedures and be able to effectively apply this knowledge on a daily basis.
Excellent communication skills (oral and written) are required.
Must be highly organized and have the ability to handle several tasks concurrently and prioritize work appropriately.
Ability to work in a team environment is essential.
Ability to work flexible shift schedules, and travel locally.
