Regional Loss Prevention Manager - South

The Regional Loss Prevention Manager – South must have a proven and verifiable background in retail Loss Prevention with at least 5 years experience in a multi-store specialty retail environment. The Regional Loss Prevention Manager will be responsible for managing and directing the Loss Prevention efforts for approximately 80 DSW Shoe stores located throughout the Southern U.S. and be based within the Regional Office located in Dallas. Reports to Director, Loss Prevention. Manages two District Loss Prevention Managers.

Basic Function:
Trains associates, Conducts investigations, operational assessments, effectively and efficiently implements and reviews the company safety and shortage reduction plans. Achieves assigned market shrink goals and objectives through the established awareness programs, in concert with store management and field managers.

Essential Functions:
Executes the company shortage action plan and consistently reviews and updates the compliance to the program with RM / DM / Store mgrs.
Coordinates, investigates and resolves internal theft issues and cases utilizing: Interviewing skills, CCTV, Exception Reporting and retail business systems analysis.
Completes Loss Prevention/Safety/Operations store assessments, visits and checklists with emphasis on teaching and coaching, offering solutions to issues within company LP guidelines.
Participates in all regional, district and store brand meetings, conference calls and where and when possible conducts stores visits with RM’s and DM’s.
Provides risk assessment for new and existing store locations, including physical security recommendations and issues.
Completes store inventory preparation visits.
Must be able to travel extensively to all markets within the region as much as 75% of the time including overnight travel.

Job Requirements:
Skills:
Literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, including the use of exception based reporting systems, preferably “Aspect”.
Strong management, organizational, and communication skills, including public speaking. The ability to effectively influence others without direct authority over district and store level associates.
Proven ability to handle complex internal investigations and interviews,
Operational knowledge of CCTV, alarm, and EAS systems and related equipment.
High level of comprehension and skills in the use and understanding of retail reporting systems including POS and Inventory management systems.

Experience:
Minimum 5-7 years proven and verifiable experience in Specialty Retail Loss Prevention.
Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check.

Bachelors degree preferred
