Security Manager

Job Title: Security Manager

Reports To: Vice President of Risk Management

POSITION SUMMARY
The primary responsibilities of the Security Manager include working closely with the Vice President of Risk Management in developing and managing the Company’s security/loss prevention program. This position serves as the primary point of contact in providing security guidance and services to all employees, in accordance with State and Federal laws.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Develops, implements, and manages all security functions for all facilities
· Primary point of contact for physical security
· Creates, maintains, and updates security related policy and procedures
· Manages outside security vendor relationships, including recruiting and acclimating vendor security officers to our environment
· Manages security officers,security systems,, surveillance camera equipment needs, equipment purchasing, installation, troubleshooting, video review and recording
· Manages access control, photo registry, and issuance of identification badges
· Conducts investigations of alleged theft or other possibly illegal or improper acts
· Conducts and promotes proactive loss/theft prevention efforts such as awareness programs, training, and inventory monitoring, as required
· Continuously conducts security audits throughout the facilities, and promotes security awareness programs to all employees
· Provides assistance and security training to location receptionists
· Develops and manages training programs in support of access control, patrolling and awareness programs
· Coordinates special events that require security presence
· Works closely with Risk Management and Human Resources to ensure that employee issues, regarding security measures and concerns, are resolved satisfactorily
· Supervises location Emergency Response Teams and conducts routine drills

QUALIFICATIONS

· 5-10 years progressive security management or equivalent experience required
· B.S. in Criminal Justice or related program preferred
· Valid California Guard Card highly desirable
· Working knowledge of laws governing theft, investigations, asset protection, and other security procedures
· Thorough knowledge of advanced access control and camera systems
· Must possess in-depth working knowledge as it pertains to security systems, CCTV, Microsoft Office
· Ability to effectively communicate and interact with diverse varieties of people and cultures at all corporate levels
· Ability to utilize logical thinking and problem solving skills to conduct inquiries and investigations
· Professional presentation demeanor to effectively deliver corporate security messages and training to all personnel
